Event Description
-- Northern California's most prestigious surfing competition, The O'Neill Coldwater Classic, draws professional surfers, sports media and surfer wannabes from all over the world. The frigid waters and rocky cliffs of Steamer Lane add drama to the four-day competition, and locals and tourists jockey for the best views along the cliffs above the action. The 2009 event is the culmination of a series of world-class competitions in Scotland, Canada, Tasmania and South Africa, with a $50,000 prize going to the winner.
